Your Semester in London program lasts a full semester and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds. You will enroll in a combination of CIEE courses, host institution courses, and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while immersing yourself in British culture. Live and learn in London!

Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in London will open doors for you to explore England's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of past excursions and activities: 

  • Visit Oxford or Cambridge and take walking tours through some of the famous beautiful colleges 
  • Tour London’s world-class art galleries, from The National Gallery to Tate Modern 
  • Explore the Wellcome Collection, which charts the study of the evolutionary, historical, and social contexts of human development

Academics

CIEE London: Study in the Bloomsbury district, one of London’s most vibrant neighborhoods set in the academic and literary heart of the city. CIEE London features classrooms, a student lounge, a library, a study space, a student life office, an academic advising office, a café, and a garden terrace.

Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is composed of five institutions – the oldest of which was founded in 1785. In 2000, it took on its formal name, Queen Mary University of London. Today, QMUL is the only campus university in London, supporting roughly 25,000+ students across its five campuses. At any given time, there are more than 1,000 study abroad students living and learning at QMUL, making this university a wonderful place to connect with like-minded international students. QMUL’s roots are in STEM, humanities, business, and law. Students can expect an immersive British international university experience while here.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by CIEE in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the CIEE academic calendar.

GAIN Travel Grants - Up to $1,500 toward travel costs guaranteed to students with a FAFSA SAI of $10,000 or less. Higher should still apply!

Gilman Go Global Grants - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $1,000 guaranteed to Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship applicants.

Merit-Based Scholarships - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $750/summer awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.
