Program Overview

Take your studies to the most ethnically diverse city in Europe: London! Designed for students across a wide variety of studies – particularly humanities, social sciences, and engineering – this Arts + Sciences program in England’s capital city will treat you to a once-in-a-lifetime experience in British society and culture. 

When class is in session, you’ll spend a full semester studying at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), one of England’s top-ranked universities known for its high-quality education and research. Here, you’ll earn credits toward your degree while learning about British beliefs, behaviors, values, and customs and develop an understanding of how Britain’s business, politics, and education differ from the U.S.

Excursions & Activities

  • Participate in a community-led tour of Chinatown by China Exchange with all proceeds going back into their work on developing cultural understanding of Britain and China’s shared history in London (and globally) 
  • Take a day trip to Oxford, Cambridge, or Bath  
  • Go on a walking tour of Brick Lane’s Street Art and its history of immigration 
  • Participate in theatre trips, museum tours, live music performances, gallery exhibition spaces – all with the benefit of subsidized tickets  
  • Make use of QMUL’s rooftop observatory or media suites  
  • Make connections at the alumni and visiting speaker events  
  • Write for the student newspapers and magazine  
  • Involve yourself in preparing a film or play for production
