Program Overview

Your Engineering, Technology + Sciences program in Kyoto lasts 12 weeks, offering you an integrated global learning experience that connects coursework with real-world applications. You will enroll in a combination of CIEE courses and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU, that focus on science, technology, engineering, or math. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities related to engineering, technology, and sciences. Live and learn in Kyoto!

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Kyoto will open doors for you to explore Japan's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

  • Visit a game design research lab or independent gaming company  
  • Learn about the intersections of history, science, and innovation on an overnight excursion to Hiroshima, where you'll visit the Peace Memorial Museum and engage with cutting-edge sustainability initiatives
