Your Semester in Berlin program lasts a full semester and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds. You will enroll in a combination of CIEE courses and host institution courses. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while immersing yourself in German culture. Live and learn in Berlin!

Program Highlights

  • Optional Internship Placements: Enhance your program with an optional for-credit internship that aligns with your career aspirations.

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Berlin will open doors for you to explore Germany's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

  • Embark on exciting overnight excursions to iconic destinations like Nuremberg, Dresden, or Rostock
  • Enjoy guided tours of the city's unique neighborhoods, museums, and institutions, with ample free time to check out your interests
  • Gain valuable insights into Germany's complex past during a day trip to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial

GAIN Travel Grants - up to $2,000 toward travel costs guaranteed to all Pell-elgible students.

Gilman Go Global Grants - $2,500/semester and $1,000/summer, guaranteed to all Gilman applications.

Merit-Based Scholarships - $2,500/semester and $750/summer, awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.

Minority Serving Institutions (MIS) Grant - $2,000/semester and $500/summer, guaranteed to all students attending MSIs.
