Program Overview

Your Arts + Sciences program in São Paulo lasts a full semester and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds. You will enroll in a combination of host institution courses and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU, with a wide range of subjects to choose from. Enhance your experience with cross-disciplinary cultural and extracurricular activities while immersing yourself in Brazilian culture. Live and learn in São Paulo!

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in São Paulo will open doors for you to explore Brazil’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.      

Samples of excursions and activities:  

  • Hike through lush trails, discover hidden waterfalls, and learn about São Paulo’s efforts in environmental conservation at Serra da Cantareira, one of the largest urban forests in the world
  • Stroll through Beco do Batman, São Paulo’s iconic open-air street art gallery, and learn how graffiti and muralism have shaped the city’s cultural identity
  • Visit the charming town of Embu das Artes, just outside São Paulo, known for its bustling artisan markets, colonial architecture, and rich cultural heritage
