Program Overview

Your Summer Accelerated Chinese Language program in Taipei lasts 8 weeks and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds who have Mandarin language skills. You will enroll in CIEE courses delivered in Mandarin. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while immersing yourself in Taiwanese culture. Live and learn in Taipei!

Activities

CIEE's excursions and cultural activities in Taipei will open doors for you to explore Taiwan's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of past excursions and activities:

  • Explore the ancient capital and the oldest city in Taiwan, Tainan, famous for its temples, historic buildings, and traditional snacks
  • Relax and enjoy the views and natural charms of eastern Taiwan, from the beautiful mountains to the coastline
  • Take a trip back in time with a visit to Jiufen Old Street in Taipei, a former gold mining center of Taiwan that has been turned into a shopping district

Academics

CIEE Taipei: Located in the modern SkyCo Nanjing Fuxing Coworking Space, CIEE Taipei is just a two-minute walk from Nanjing Fuxing metro station. On-site, discover comfortable study spaces, complimentary Wi-Fi, and free Americano coffee. CIEE Taipei staff members are fluent in both English and Mandarin and are available by appointment to assist with any academic support needs.

GAIN Travel Grants - Up to $1,500 toward travel costs guaranteed to students with a FAFSA SAI of $10,000 or less. Higher should still apply!

Gilman Go Global Grants - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $1,000 guaranteed to Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship applicants.

Merit-Based Scholarships - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $750/summer awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.
