The University of North Texas' study abroad practices are based upon the Forum on Education Abroad's Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad and Code of Ethics for Education Abroad. These documents provide a strong foundation for the development of academically sound programs and successfully guide educators through each stage of the international experience. For specific guidance on faculty led programs, please refer to the Forum on Education Abroad's Guide to Leading Short-Term Education Abroad Programs.
The Faculty Led Program Handbook is designed to prepare you for this responsibility and provide you with the information you need to design and implement a successful program in accordance with UNT policy. It is intended to guide both first-time and continuing Faculty Leaders through the entire process. SAO will be your partner throughout your time as a Faculty Leader, and this handbook will help you learn more about the resources available to you through our office and dedicated staff.
